Accent in the study of the roots of mediation is put on the types of conciliation proceedings, which are presented in a comparative aspect. The perspective of mediation lies in the improvement of its legal framework. Views on the development of legislation in this direction are presented. Given the well-known problem of judicial overload and delays in resolving cases, the idea certainly deserves support. It is often pointed out that delayed justice is practically equal to denial of justice, and this is unaccept able in a country that defines itself as "governed by the rule of law" already in the Preamble of its Constitution. The purpose of the present research is to seek an answer to a private, but far from unimportant question: how the mentioned changes will affect the court proceedings in individual labor disputes and whether and to what extent they can be expected to solve the existing problems in this sphere. It goes without saying that labor disputes usually affect the essential interests of citizens, most often related to their main source of income, and means of support for themselves and their families. That is why their timely and correct solution is of particular importance, both on an individual and societal level. With the disclaimer that the practice of applying the new rules is yet to be developed and at this stage the assessment of their effectiveness can only be predictive, there are obviously no grounds for too much optimism. The presented report will consider a part of the problems that exist regarding the resolution of labor disputes between the parties with the help of mediation. According to the general legal provision, employers have much more powers and should exercise their control function over the performance of duties and responsibilities of workers/employees. This rule applies and applies to the public sector as well. The problem is how to carry out this function in the most correct and correct way, without violating the basic principles of labor law and without infringing the labor rights of workers. In most cases, incorrect actions are observed on the part of employers when violations are established, on the other hand, incorrect action is also observed on the part of workers/employees when specific situations arise, which is a prerequisite for the emergence of labor-legal disputes, which transform into legal proceedings. The conflict resolution strategies presented are based on established principles of mediation, such as active listening, mutual understanding, recognition of participants' emotions, and creating a common ground for resolving disputes. The report describes three steps for managing conflicts in extreme situations: preparation, application of mediation strategies, and completion of the mediation process. Preparation involves assessing risks, selecting the appropriate methodology, and preparing the mediator. Application of mediation strategies includes identifying participants' needs, mutual understanding of the problem, and seeking solutions that meet those needs. Completion of the mediation process involves assessing the results, settling agreements, and providing support for the implementation of the agreement. The methodology for managing conflicts in extreme situations within the context of mediation is particularly useful for professionals working in the field of mediation and the judicial system, as well as anyone who wants to learn more about these methodologies and apply them in their life.
